This may be a specific issue, a difficult circumstance, or something that has been affecting you for a very long time.

Today’s world is undoubtedly stressful. We are increasingly expected to do more in less time. We are constantly on the go and rarely (if ever) get to “switch-off”. Up to a point, some level of stress is beneficial – it is what pushes us to work towards and achieve our goals. But left unchallenged, it can become overbearing and start controlling your thoughts and behaviours.

Stress can present itself in different ways. It might affect how you feel physically, mentally and also how you behave. Perhaps you find yourself eating too much, or too little. Perhaps you have started drinking or smoking more. Or perhaps you have found yourself becoming more easily irritated and snappy with those around you.

Excessive stress is detrimental, unhealthy and counterproductive, and can affect your relationships or your performance at work. If you want to learn to manage your stress and bring it back to a healthy level.

All too common but seldom talked about, Depression can have a devastating impact on every aspect of your life if it is not treated. The onset of low mood, sadness, guilt, feelings of helplessness and hopelessness can be debilitating.

Anxiety

We all feel anxious at some point in our life. Cases may vary from mild to severe, but a worry or fear about something outside of your control can be a source of misery and upset. Anxiety can present itself in a physical response, emotional response or both. You might feel sweaty, shaky, short of breath or experience your heart racing (physical), or it can cause changes in your behaviours, such as becoming overly careful or avoiding things that trigger anxiety (emotional). Hypnotherapy works by focusing on the underlying issue that makes you react negatively and allows you to manage your worries so that they stop overwhelming you.

You are not alone. According to the charity Action on Addiction, 1 in 3 people suffer from an addiction. Addiction is most commonly associated with gambling, drugs, alcohol and nicotine, but it is possible to be addicted to just about anything, including: Work, Internet, Solvents, Shopping, Food etc.

Fears and Phobia

Phobias are an irrational fear of something that is often linked to a distressing event or experience. Having a phobia can limit your daily activities and may cause a physical and emotional response in your body. The common phobia of spiders, for example, may induce sweating or shakes at the sight of the 8-legged creature, in extreme cases, just a picture may be enough to make you feel nauseous or petrified. Whatever your fear or phobia, I will work with you to investigate the underlying cause of your distress and look at ways to rationalise your thoughts should you ever have to encounter the thing that makes you feel fear and anxiety.

Stop Smoking

Smoking is the ailment for which I receive the most enquiries. From heavy, chain-smokers to casual or “social” smokers who want to stop inhaling poison and rid themselves of this common addiction.

Most people are aware of the dangers of smoking, both to their own health and that of their families inhaling their second-hand smoke. Many have tried, often repeatedly, and failed to stop. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance and it often takes more than graphic images or words of caution printed on the cigarette packet to stop smoking.

Mindeology targets the behaviour that has become habitual and allows you to reduce or eliminate the urge to pick up a cigarette. The freedom to be a non-smoker has to come from you, so sessions will only work if you have a real desire to change your habits. If you do, it could change your life for the better forever.

Grief

Hypnotherapy is one of the effective ways in addressing grief by working with the subconscious mind to identify and process emotions associated with loss. Grief can be a complex and overwhelming experience, and it can manifest in various ways, such as sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, and depression.

During hypnotherapy sessions, the therapist may use guided relaxation techniques to help the individual enter a relaxed state and access their subconscious mind. Through this process, the individual may be able to gain insights and understanding about their emotions related to the loss, and work through any unresolved feelings.

Hypnotherapy can also be used to help the individual develop coping mechanisms to deal with grief, such as finding new ways to honour the memory of their loved one or developing self-care practices to support their emotional wellbeing.
